JD was born Dec. 15, 1980, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He grew up and attended school in Twin Falls. In his younger years, he was active in boxing and basketball and was always an avid outdoorsman, including wakeboarding, hunting and fishing.
His proudest moment was on May 6, 2004, when his son, Colby, was born.
In 2007, JD met Tonna Quesnell, his loving companion, who never left his side during his courageous battle with cancer. Together they started a concrete business, which JD was proudly devoted to until the day of his passing. JD's enthusiasm for life was contagious. He always enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He will constantly be remembered for his strength, effortless smile and youthful presence.
JD is survived by his son, Colby Covington; and many other cherished family and friends, including his love, Tonna Quesnell, and her children, Trevor, Aspen and Collin; his parents, Mike and Dana Covington and Gary and Lynn Ellis; his brothers, Ryon (Brooke) Covington and Dillon Ellis; his sister, Danielle (J.T.) Ramondetta; his stepbrothers, Nathan (Amy) and Canaan Covington; his caring grandparents, Larry and Ruth Ann Sellers and Leona Howard; among many other loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous close friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Valley Christian Center, 35 Main St. in Hazelton, Idaho, followed by an interment at the Hazelton Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be given in Colby's name at any First Federal Bank.
