Edwin Ellis Robinson of Alcoa passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Asbury Place in Maryville.
He was born Jan. 10, 1944, in Alcoa to Norris and Mary Ella (George) Robinson.
He attended Charles M. Hall High School. During the early years of his life, he was a member of St. John Baptist Church and later became a member of St. Peters Primitive Baptist Church. Edwin's favorite hobby was fishing. Edwin retired from General Shales Brick Company after 36 years.
He was preceded in death by parents, Norris and Mary Ella (George) Robinson; grandparents, Steve Robinson, Georgia Jenkins, and Robert and Cora George; brother, Norris O. Robinson, Jr.; infant sister, Janette Anita; nephew, Ralph M. Robinson, Jr.; niece, Tyra J. Richardson Patterson.
Survivors include siblings, Vincent (Vannie) Robinson, Audrey J. Richardson, Rodney S. Robinson, Rosalind A. Robinson of Alcoa; Eleanor L. Robinson, Ralph M. Robinson, Una Gail Willis, Jacqueline A. (Maurice) Waters, Sandra R. (Klem) Jones of Knoxville; Dr. Mary G. (Emanuel) Roland of Chattanooga; Michael E. (Pamela) Robinson of Franklinton, N.C.; sister-in-law, Martha Robinson, Gainesville, Fla.; and a host of nephews and nieces to include 23 nieces and nephews; 41 great-nieces and nephews; and 14 great-great-nieces and nephews; an aunt, cousins, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Jarnigan and Son Mortuary, 2823 Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue, Knoxville. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. with Rev. Stone Carr officiating, with entombment, Sherwood Memorial Mausoleum, Alcoa. The body may be viewed at the mortuary after 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.
