Kristin Lynn Krider, daughter of George and Glena (Shull) Rasmussen, was born May 30, 1953, in Springfield, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, February 27, 2009, in her home, north of Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, eight months, and twenty-seven days.
On January 3, 1972 she was united in marriage to Edward L. Smith and to this union one son was born. Ed and Kris lived several places while he was serving in the military. In 1987 following Ed's retirement from the Army they returned to Mansfield. Ed preceded her death on April 8, 1991.
On July 15, 1994 she was united in marriage to Charley Krider and together they have shared fourteen wonderful years.
She was also preceded in death by her father.
Kris is survived by her loving husband, Charley, of the home; a son, Scott Smith, and his wife, Melissa, of Rogersville, Missouri; a daughter, Heather Choate, of Mansfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Conner Choate, of Mansfield, Missouri, Dalton Fielden and Grace Fielden, both of Rogersville, Missouri; her mother, Glena Rasmussen, of Mansfield, Missouri; a sister, Kelly Brazeal, of Mansfield, Missouri; two nephews; Tim Brazeal and his wife, Rochelle, and Tom Brazeal, all of Mansfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Kris was raised in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School in the class of 1971. She owned and operated The Bouquet Shop, in Mansfield for many years and always helped with community activities, especially Wilder Days.
Kris had made her profession of faith in Christ and attended the Mansfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, being outdoors, going to the lake and loved spending time on the beach.
Kris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and was a caring neighbor and dear friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
