Ray A. Harrison, age 43, died November 20, 2013, in Midland.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013, at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Burns officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Ray was born in Tulare County, Visalia, California on May 13, 1970, to Roy and Gloria Harrison. He married Laura Estevez on June 28, 2008, in Amarillo, Texas.

Ray was a person of wide-ranging interests and talents. His friends and family always appreciated his culinary abilities, generally insisting that he be the assigned chef for special occasions. He was willing to always help friends and acquaintances with emergency tasks and repairs, whether it was weekend apartment relocations, repairs of a barbecue grill, or even helping with political campaigns by digging potholes all over Amarillo for candidate billboards. He had talent and skill for working with computers and advanced technology and was recognized in his workplace for the technical advances achieved by his workgroup where he was The Fleet Manager at Spirit Global Energy Solutions. For many years, Ray held different positions at the TxDOT operation in Amarillo.

Ray lived in numerous locales while growing up, was an alumnus of Central High School in Kerman, California. He attended college in Albuquerque, New Mexico and also took classes at Amarillo College.

Ray was active in church both in Midland-Odessa and Amarillo. His great passion and priority was for his darling little girl Brie, age 3, and his devotion to his beloved wife Laura whom he met in Amarillo's Barnes & Noble in the cookbook section. They were married at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; a daughter, Brie Lynn Harrison of Amarillo; a sister, Tamara Bandy and husband, Dr. Bo of Branson, MO; a brother, Roy Alan Harrison and wife, Michelle of Linden, CA; his mother, Gloria Boyer of Branson, MO; his father, Roy Harrison and wife, Carole of Borger, TX; his parents-in-law, Dr. Roberto and Elizabeth Estevez of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Ana E. Estevez and husband, K. Roger Williams, of Amarillo; a brother-in-law, Lee Estevez and wife, Roe Ann of Rockwall, TX; and five nieces and one nephew.

Visitation will be 6-7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, at the funeral home.
