Lillian Lanora "Lynn" Howard Thieme, 71, of Waycross died Thursday evening (Nov. 21, 2013) at Mayo Clinic Health System of Waycross after an extended illness. She was born in Pierce County to the late James Arthur Howard and Lenora Mae Bowen Howard and lived in this area most of her life. Mrs. Thieme was a southern lady, always working until her health declined. Her last job was as a CNA with Visiting Nurses. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Baugh; four brothers, James Howard, Charles Howard, Harold Howard, and Williard Howard; a son-in-law, Bradley Grow.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Thieme of Jacksonville, FL; three children, James Earl "J.D." Doyle and his wife Mary of Waycross, Karen Grow of Waycross, R.W. McAlister of Waycross; eleven grandchildren, Christina Mosley and her husband Jack of Middleburg, FL, Sonya Christ of Baldwin, FL, James Doyle, Jarred Doyle and Meghan Doyle all of Waycross, Nathan Grow, Heather Grow and Ryan Grow all of Jacksonville, FL, Cassie Lyn McAlister, Samantha Ann McAlister, Richard W. McAlister, III all of Jacksonville, FL; three great-grandchildren, Dalton, Rebecca Lyn and Mia Lynn; one sister, Carolyn Lydeen and her husband Leroy of Bradley, CA; one brother-in-law, Johnny Baugh of Waycross; one sister-in-law, Gertrude Howard of Lake City, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Sunday at Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 12 noon at the cemetery
