Wayne Rose, age 81, of Richmond, KY and formerly of Lenoir City, TN and Murphy, NC passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 in Kentucky.
He was a native of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late John W. and Lassie Ann Allen Rose. He retired from B & W in Michigan as an iron worker. Wayne was a member of the Dixie Lee Baptist Church in Lenoir City, TN. He was a mason; a member of the Avery Lodge #593 of Lenoir City. Wayne was a Scottish Rite Mason and former member of the J.C. Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Rose.
He is survived by his wife, Verla Maxine Bryson Rose; two sons, Ronald L. Rose of Richmond, KY and Michael D. Rose of Owensburg, KY; two brothers, Bill Rose of Murphy, NC and Roy Rose of the Unaka Community; four sisters, Mary Ruth English of Henderson, NV, Thelma Davis of Marietta, GA, Ruby McDowell of Boca Raton, FL and Diane Morrow of Marietta, GA; four grandchildren, Allen, Matthew, Adam and Joshua; and one great grandchild, Skylar Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy,NC. The Rev. Calvin Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Unaka Baptist Church Cemetery.
