Virginia Ruth Campbell Harper Glover was born March 17, 1924 to Emma and Clyde Campbell near Greenfield, Mo. in Dade County.

She passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home at the age of 89 on Saturday Movember 16, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Harper of Greenfield, her second husband Jim Glover of Joplin, She was the youngest of 8 brothers and sisters who have also preceded her in death. They are Joe and Leona Campbell, Bill and Lila Campbell, Rusty and Marguerite Campbell, Roberta and Ed Owens, Hazel nd Lewis Montgomery, Harley and Faye Campbell and an infant brother.

She is survived by two sons, David Harper and wife Zola of Springfield, Bill Harper and wife Alice of Joplin, four grandchildren, Mary Wetherell and her children, Michael and Amanda Wetherell, Billie Harper and her children, Kori and Harley Harper, Lee Harper ad wife Stephanie and their children, Noah, Elizabeth, Andrew, ad Stephan Harper. two step sons, Ricky Glover and John Glover and family. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She came from and married into a large family. Family was the most important thing to her.She was proud to be raised in a Christian Home n strove to install Christian values into her own family.

Virginia was a graduate of Arcola High School. She was employed by the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons Kansas for several years. She then worked for Butternut Bread and retired after 20 years of service. She was a founding member of the Southwest Missouri Arthritis Association and a longtime member of Ruth Chapter #177, Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Iron Gates Christan Church, Joplin.

Services are planned for Saturday at 1p.m. at Mount Olive Church north of Greenfield Mo on Highway 39 Larry Wheeler will officiate. Interment will follow immediately after at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harlan Campbell, Brad Campbell, Kerry Montgomery, Scott Montgomery, Darrell Dodd, Wesley Dodd, Josh Wetherell, Honorably pallbearers will be Michael Wetherell ad Josh Harper. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwest Missouri Arthritis Foundation. or to the American Cancer Society in care of Parker Mortuary.
