James A. (Butch) Dorris

Died November 19, 2013 at Seasons Hospice, 4755 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE.

He graduated from H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School in 1968. Butch retired from Carpenter's Local 626 after 45 years of service. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and being on his boat. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was truly loved by everyone including his nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late James A. Dorris, Sr. and Verena T. Dorris. He is also preceded in death by his son, James A. (Butchie) Dorris, III. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jean A. (West) Dorris of New Castle; his daughter, Dawn Marie Plows (Barry) of Newark; his granddaughter, Christina Marie Plows of Newark; his grandsons, Barry Plows (Debby), and Michael Plows both of Newark; his great grandson, Preston Plows of Newark; his sister, Diane Trala (Tom) of Bear. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle on Monday morning, November 25, 2013 at 10 am. Friends may call at Holy Spirit Church on Sunday evening November 24, 2013 from 6-8 pm. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, DuPont Pkwy,. New Castle.
