Smiths Station, AL- Emma Jean Pittman Carroll, 89, of Smiths Station, AL, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EST, on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Reverend Grant Parker officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are, Matthew Carroll, Tye Carroll, Ryan Carroll, John Mark Patrick, Josh Walker and Terry Freeman.
Mrs. Carroll was born on September 29, 1924, in Troy, AL, the daughter of the late John William Pittman and Luna Pittman. She was a member of Epworth UMC.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Paul Carroll, son, Charles Rodney Carroll, sister, Louella Yeamons, brother, Rual Pittman and granddaughter, Lisa Roberts.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia C. Roberts, husband Bubba; son, John William Carroll, wife Barbara; grandchildren, Amy Waldrup, Skylar Walker, Shea Patrick, Matthew Carroll, Tye Carroll, and Ryan Carroll; great grandchildren, Judah and Harper Patrick, Madelyn Moore, Daytona Morton, Rylee and Emilee Carroll and Nathan Walker; other extended family and many caring friends.
