Catherine Adams Lamb was born in Kentucky 24 April 1803 to Coonrod Adams and Mary "Polly" Benton. On 8 April 1822, she was united in marriage to John Benedict Lamb in Washington County, Kentucky. Ten known children are recorded from this union : Mary, Perlina, Sarah, James, Thomas, George, Nancy, Wesley, Catherine, and William. They moved to Dent County, Missouri where they farmed and reared their family. Following the passing of her husband, Catherine journeyed to California to live with her daughter Nancy and son-in-law Hiram Plank in Redding, California She became ill and passed away there on 19 November 1890 and was buried in the Redding Memorial Park Cemetery in Redding, Shasta County, California in a plot purchased by Hiram Plank. Hiram submitted the following note of thanks in the Republican Free Press, Redding, California on 23 November 1890 : "Died in Redding, Wednesday, November 19, 1890, Mrs. Catherine Lamb. Her children, Mr. and Mrs Blank, wish to offer their thanks to the people of Redding for kindness bestowed during her illness and death." Catherine's grave is unmarked.Daughter of Conrad and Polly Adams.
