Winona "Linnie" Treadwell, age 89, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 20th in Hobbs. A memorial service will be held at King's Gate Church in Hobbs at 9 a.m., Wed, Oct. 23, 2013.

Mrs Treadwell was born in Atwell, Texas on Feb 7, 1924. She hed a B.A. degree from Howard Payne University. She was married to the love of her life, Maurice Treadwell, for 64 years until his passing in 2007. Winona was a retired school teacher and missionary to Panama and Brazil. The private school that she founded in Brazil continues to thrive to this day.

Having moved to Hobbs in 2009, Grandma Treadwell was a member of King's Gate Church the past four years of her life, where she attended faithfully until the month before her passing.

Mrs Treadwell is survived by her son Charles, and wife Marilyn of Albuquerque, her son Donald and wife Kathy of Seagoville, Texas, her daughter Jeannie Davis and husband Richard of Brownwood, Texas, and her daughter Barbara Sena and husband Fabian, of Hobbs. She is also survived by approximately 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Known as a hard-working, strong, and faithful woman, she was so proud of her whole family, and she will be missed by all who loved her.
