The funeral of Harry Bradbury Sommers of Ashland who died suddenly Wednesday evening January first at Plymouth Hospital after a few hours' illness was held in the Ashland Baptist Church Saturday afternoon with Rev. L.E. Alexander of Franklin, assisted by Rev. C.L. Peaslee officiating. Grafton Lodge officials performed their rites both at the church and gravesite. Bearers were Seward Verrill, Richard Gordon Arthur Forbes, Colby Lyford, Thomas Pryor and Melvin Marden with burial in Green Grove Cemetery. Harold was born in Harvard, Mass. April 5, 1913, the son of Harold T. and Sarah (Head) Sommers of Holderness. He attended the public schools in Holderness and was a graduate of New Hampton School for Boys with the Class of 1933. He worked for the past seven years with his father at the Armstrong Camps and farm. He married Sylvia Vaillant May 29, 1936. He was Vice Grand of Grafton Lodge I.O.O.F. of Ashland; a member of Ashland Rebekah Lodge, No. 67; Squam Lake Grange and of Pemigewasset Valley Pomona. The survivors are his wife Sylvia and a ten week old daughter. Alice Ann, his parents and two sisters, Phyllis a senior at Plymouth Teachers college and Rita a student at Wilfred Academy at Boston, besides more distant relatives.
