Erica Elizabeth Rothfuchs Martin died suddenly on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, in Dickinson, Texas.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2007, at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City, where she was a long-time parishioner and served on the Women’s Council. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, November 16, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Erica was born June 6, 1926 in Galveston, Texas, to Selma and Albrecht Rothfuchs. She spent much of her free time volunteering. She was a long-time Girl Scout Leader in Texas City. She was also a volunteer for a number of years at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center for the Senior Friends, where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year. She also volunteered her time for a number of years at the Texas City Museum and the HRA Organization for the handicapped. She also worked the weekly lunches for Texas City Senior Services many years.

She is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Louis S. Martin.

Survivors include her four children, Zina and Gerry Lowe, Keith and Alice Martin, Elizabeth and Bert Todd, and Trina and Greg Long; her grandchildren, Tiffany and Bryan Scuderi, Aaron Lowe, Arnold and Julie Valdez, Erika and Jason Peugeot, Whitney and Kelsey Todd, Jennifer, Jeff and David Long; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Isabella Scuderi, Alyssa and Aidan Valdez and Victoria Liles; sister Virginia Nelly and husband, S. S. Eggleston; brother Albrecht and wife Anna Marie Rothfuchs.
