Civil Service retiree THOMSON, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Mr. Thomas B. Rushing, Jr., 74, husband of Mrs. Irene Rushing, of Ginger Hill Road, Thomson. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Hammond officiating. Mr. Rushing, a native of Richmond County, was a retired Civil Service Worker at the Va., Hospital, Augusta. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a charter member of Fleming Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Irene I. Rushing, Thomson; two sons, Tommy Rushing, Thomson, and Derrell Rushing, Warrenton; one daughter, Arleen Rushing Shapiro, Monroe; one sister, Ann Moore Parnell, Hephzibah; and four grandchildren, Chris Rushing, Hollie Rushing, Austin Rushing, and Clint Rushing. Pallbearers will be Chris Rushing, Austin Rushing, Clint Rushing, Brice Parnell, Tony Stevenson, and Tim Shelton.
