She was born October 25, 1924 in Butterfield, MO the daughter of Daniel Andrew & Addie {Lane} Cowherd. On November 1, 1951 she was united in marriage to Leon Jackson who preceded her in death on November 23, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son-in-law, Duane Truman; four brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are one son, Charlie Jackson and his wife Tina of Cassville, MO; one daughter, Jan Truman of Cassville, MO; one sister, Olita Kollar and her husband Joe of Ashland, OH; four grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, Amanda Jackson, Lane Truman and Barbie Truman; three great grandchildren, Ashlee Rummel, Kennedy Truman and Reagan Truman and two great-great grandchildren, Ethan Rummel and Katy Rummel.
Elma grew up and received her education in Butterfield, MO where she graduated from high school in 1943. In 1962 she moved to Cassville where she was a homemaker and self-employed secretary. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Butterfield. Some of her favorite past times were bowling, sewing and working puzzles.
Services were held on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Ralph Hilburn conducted the services. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville, MO.
