Bertha Christiana Zoch, youngest twin daughter of Matthes Zoch, farmer on Rabbs Creek, and Maria Schneider, died at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, 25 August 1880 and was buried the next day in St Paul's Cemetery, Serbin, Texas. Pastor Kilian gave a brief funeral devotion at the home based on 1 Corinthians 1:25-29, a blessing at the grave, and preached a funeral sermon based on Galatians 3:26-27. Bertha lived for four months and 16 days before dying from vomiting and diarrhea. She is survived by her father and mother, three brothers and four sisters, and one grandmother. (Grave diggers were John Hannusch and Ernst Teinert.)
