Funeral service for Donald “Pete” Garmon, Jr., 55, will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Jackie Morgan and Richard O’Connor officiating. Burial will be in the Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-8 pm. Mr. Garmon died Wednesday , May 22, 2013 at his home. He is survived by his wife Donna Garmon; three daughters, Theresa (Dustin) Garmon of Jacksonville, Nichole (Michael) Ladik of Ohatchee, and Krystal Morris of Coldwater; two sons, Phillip (Brittney) Garmon of Anniston and Justin Morris of Anniston; one sister Theresa “T-Bob” and her husband Sonny Parker of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Nancy Ladik, Breanna Garmon, Raynah Brown, Gabe Ladik and Brock Reaves; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Phillip Garmon, Chip Parker, Michael Ladik, Justin Morris, Dustin Hunter and Sonny Parker. Mr. Garmon was born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina until moving to Jacksonville, Alabama in 1974 during his senior year of high school. He worked at Anniston Wal-mart as Automotive Service Manager for 5 years after working at Fruit of the Loom Cotton Mill for 25 years. His hobbies included fishing, NASCAR and was an avid Alabama fan. Pete was a loving husband, father and paw paw who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and the time he spent with them will always be cherished memories for years to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Nancy Garmon, Sr. In memory of Pete and as a last request by him, the family ask that all attending the visitation and services wear Alabama attire.
