MRS ADDIE HORSEY DIED ON TUESDAY

HAD BEEN AN INVALID FOR NUMBER OF YEARS

Mrs. Addie C. Horsey, one of Crisfield's most
highly respected elderly matrons, died at her
home on Main street Tuesday, after an
extended illness, at the age of 86 years.

She was the daughter of the late James C. and
Nancy E. Nelson of this city, and the widow of
the late Alonzo R. Horsey, for many years one
of Crisfield's leading merchants. Mrs. Horsey
was a woman of poise and charm, a devoted
wife and mother, a fine neighbor and friend,
and was admired and respected by everyone
who knew her. While she had been ill for
sometime, she was always cheerful and
appreciative of visits by relatives and
friends. She was a great church worker
before illness incapacitated her, a member
of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, where for
years she taught large Sunday School
Classes, and took a prominent part in other
church activities.

Mrs. Horsey reposed at her home until 2:30
o'clock Thursday afternoon, when funeral
services were held there, conducted by her
pastor Rev. A.T. McFarland.

Interment was in the family lot in the
Crisfield cemetery. Bearers were Austin
Loreman, Jr., Reginald Cullen, Edward R.
Daugherty, Olin W . Sterling, Albert Carson
and Prentiss W. Evans.

Mrs. Horsey is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Mildred Horsey Wilkins of this city, one son,
Alonzo R. Horsey, Jr., of Merion, Pa. and two grandchildren.
