Obituary for Evelyn "Beth" Armstrong
Evelyn “Beth” Armstrong, 80, of Sandersville, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children on the evening of July 26, 2018. Beth, known to many as MeeMaw, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She adored her family, had a deep faith in God and shared His unconditional love with everyone she met.

Visitation will be at Memory Chapel on Sunday, July 29 from 5-8 p.m., and a graveside service will be held at Sandersville Baptist Cemetery on Monday July 30 at 10:30 a.m. Service will be officiated by Rev. Bud Swindall.

Beth was born on July 10, 1938 to the late Richard Scaife Bradford and Margaret Evelyn Bradford (Mooney) in the small town of Canton, MS. She met the love of her life, Bobby Wayne Armstrong in Jones, LA, where he would travel on his horse Shorty to begin their courting relationship. They were married on July 16, 1954 and celebrated 58 years of marriage before Bobby’s death in 2013. Bob and Beth began their married life together in Dallas, Texas, eventually settling in Sandersville, MS where they owned and operated Bob’s Grocery and Meat Market. Her home was a safe haven and “home” to anyone who needed it. Her door was always open; everyone was welcomed and loved at MeeMaw’s house.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Wayne (Bob) Armstrong, her brothers Richard Scaife Bradford Jr. and James Luter (Jimmy) Bradford.

She is survived by one daughter, Pam McKinley of Sandersville; one son, Rod Armstrong (Polly) of Moselle; three granddaughters, K’Lynne McKinley (Sarah) of Michigan; Courtney Crager (Kyle) of Ellisville; and Casey Reid (Derek) of Laurel; and nine great-grandchildren, Noah, Lyrik, and Salem McKinley; Collin, Brantlee and Ty Crager; and Fisher, Tate and Madelyn Reid; a sister-in-law Ella Dean Vining (Lavelle) of Bastrop, LA, Carolyn Bradford of Laurel, and Gloria Bradford of Kansas; a host of nieces and nephews; and many special friends at the Nail and Hair Gallery in Laurel.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Crager, Derek Reid, Scaife Bradford, William Bradford, Marty Pearson, Keith Rozier and GP Crager.
