Dick was a graduate of Beaver High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His greatest joy was to spend time with his family enjoying Easter egg hunts, Christmas time, playing on the farm, wrestling matches, and helping with 4-H shows for small livestock with his 14 grandchildren. Dick worked for 44 years at Green Diamond Ranch with his best friend Joey Leko.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie Powell, his children Kim Ackroyd, Cindy Hollinger, Danny Powell, Heather Widle, Tiffany Chavez, and Pete Sheffer, his brother LaVar Limb, sisters Elen Thompson and Molly Jensen, his brother Bill Powell, and 14 grandchildren. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ila Hess.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Milford 1st Ward Chapel (748 W 600 S). Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
