Topeka, Kansas ----- Former Emporia and Council Grove resident Mrs. O. E. Mabrey, 83, of Topeka died Dec. 18, 1995, at a Topeka care home. Mrs. Mabrey lived in Council Grove from 1946 to 1977, where she was a legal secretary from 1946 to 1954. She graduated from Emporia High School and lived in Emporia from 1977 to 1984, then moved to Topeka. From 1943 to 1945, she was employed with U.S. Army personnel in the plant security department at Baltimore, Md. She was the sister of Rose Ludy of Emporia.
Ada E. Ludy, the daughter of John L. and Mabel Northrup Ludy, was born July 4, 1912, at Rock Springs, Wyo. She married O. E. Mabrey on Jan. 31, 1942, at Las Vegas, Nev.
Mrs. Mabrey was a member of the Highland Park Church of Christ in Topeka.
She also is survived by her husband, a daughter Patricia Tetuan of Topeka; two sisters, Dora Wininger of Whittier, Calif., and Marjoria McDonald of Jackson, Mo. Two brothers died earlier.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Highland Park Church of Christ in Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Topeka. Friends may call at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka.
