WEDDING IN COLUMBUS.
wedding bells are ringing at Columbus, adding their music to that of the Christmas chimes. On the evening of December 23, at the Methodist parsonage, there was solemnized the marriage of Edwin H Thomas and Miss Nina May Haley, the services being read by their pastor, J.R.Grummon. Plans had been made to have a home wedding with the friends and relatives of the young people present. However, following to a few cases of scarlet fever which would keep away some of the guests, and to the recent illness of the bride's mother, it seems best not to carry out the original plan. Hence the quiet wedding. Indeed the secret had been kept so carefully even from the most intimate friends, that all were surprised the friends had been neatly outwitted and no crowd of merry makers was ready with rice and old shoes. The bride is a daughter of J. W. Haley, who has a fine farm home just west of Columbus. The Haley family is one of the old and respected families of the community. The groom is the son of J.B. Thomas, an energetic farmer and stockman, one of the enterprising me about Columbus. And both the young people are worthy representatives of their respective families. A mile and a half south of Columbus an attractive little bungalow has been built and furnished by the groom. Here he will take his bride at once and they will begin what promises to be a most happy and useful life.
