Julia Clara Franklin was born in Charleston, WV on December 9, 1921 to the union of
Benjamin and Laura Ann Starks. She attended Charleston Public Schools where she
graduated from Garnet High School. Julia was the youngest of six sisters; Melinda
(Linnie), Elizabeth, Margaret (Maggie), Laura, Kathryn, and Isabelle (Izzy). She also
had three brothers Harry, Benjamin, and Charles (Butch) all preceding her in death.

In 1941 Julia Married James S. Franklin and to that union was born Stanley S, Jeffrey L.,
(who proceeded her in death), and Ross R.

Julia was a faithful member of New Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit. She
LOVED her church and its members!

She was also a member of the Who's Who Social Club where she was a known card
shark.

Everyone that knew Julia knew she loved to throw a party and could put together an
elaborate meal. She was always the hostess with the most-est.

The angles came to bring Julia home October 21st, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Stanley (Gwendolyn) and Ross (Yvette) five
grandchildren Doris (Stanley) of Tiffany, Danel, and Tyler, and Eve, three Great-
Grandchildren Lee Marcus(Juicy), Brittne, and Carrington.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
