Herman Gene "Jiggs" Evans, 78, of Huntsville, died Nov. 16, 2013 at Washington Regional Medical Center at Fayetteville.
He was born Jan. 3, 1935 at Bohannan, Ark., the son of John Earl and Lillian Boyd Evans.
He was a farmer and was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: his wife, to whom he was married on Oct. 30, 1952, Donna Ruth Hamilton Evans of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Buck Miller of Forum, and Linda and J. R. Vaughan of Clifty; one brother, Kenneth Powell of Huntsville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Winnie Gregory and Beverly and Dwain McLoud all of Huntsville, and Barbara JoAnn and Alford Gilbert of Tuttle; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Brashears Funeral Home chapel with chaplain Shane Thomas officiating.
Interment was in the Alabam Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
