Pate, Carol S. Beloved wife of Michael Pate, passed away on November 16, 2013. Carol was the loving and devoted Mother to Michael (Maria), Ted, Matt (Martha) and her cherished Mark whom she joins in Heaven. She was also proud Grandmother to Chloe, Quade and Jason. Carol was a Beaumont High graduate. Starting work at American General Insurance, she was Secretary of the Year for St Louis in 1958. She then joined The United States Department of State and worked in the State Department Liaison Office to The White House under President Lyndon Johnson. She was assigned to The United States deligation to The United Nations, in Geneva, Switzerland where she served as secretary to The American Ambassador. Her final assignment, prior to leaving the State Department, was as secretary to Adlai Stevenson, American Ambassador to The United Nations. After marrying she moved with her military family to several locations world-wide and returned to St Louis in 1975. From then on she was employed by first, Susman, Schermer, Rimmel, & Schiffrin, and then, after a merger, Gallop, Johnson and Neuman until 2012. Services: A private Funeral will be held at Jefferson Barracks.
