Funeral services for Jeanne Carter of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth McGee and Rev. Larry White officiating. Interment will be in the El Reno Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. She was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Pawhuska. Jeanne was a graduate of Pawhuska High School. She was a longtime Canadian County area resident. Jeanne Wood married W.K. George Carter on Aug. 29, 1946, in El Reno. She was a hairdresser and homemaker, and had worked for the Canadian County Treasurer's Office. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She loved to play the piano.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mary Florence (Cutright) Wood; husband, W.K. George Carter; two brothers, Russell and Paul Wood; and a sister: Delores Wood.
Survivors include her son, Rocky Carter and wife, Karen, and daughter, Paulette Franz, all of El Reno; five grandchildren, Heath Franz and wife, Heather, Holly Majka and husband, Chris, Ryan Carter and wife, Brianne, Camilla Sewell and husband, David, and Ross Carter and wife, Elizabeth; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
