COLUMBUS-- Lester T. "Les" Adam, 313 Sunset Road, Columbus, died on Wednesday, March 20, 1991, in his home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 23, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Columbus, with the Rev. G.F. Cares and Rev. Robert Wilke. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Adam was born on April 27, 1928 in Fountain Prairie Township, the son of Theodore and Elfreda (Pergande) Adam. He was married to Margaret Madaus on December 22, 1951 in Columbus.
Mr. Adam was a lifelong resident of the Columbus/Fall River area, and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was the Commander of Columbus VFW Post 8090. He worked as an agent for Columbus Mutual Insurance Company, and was past Columbia Country Highway Commissioner and past City of Columbus alderman.
Survivors include his wife of Columbus; one son Mark (Bonnie) Adam, Columbus; one daughter Beth (Charles) Dunning, Fall River; his mother of Columbus; two brothers Donald (Beverly) Adam, Columbus, and Eugene (Betsy) Voss, Columbus; two sisters Adeline (Roger) Voss, Columbus, and Marion (Eugene) Marshall, Janesville; five grandchildren; father-in-law and mother-in-law Otto and Clara Madaus, Columbus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
