She was raised in Edgerton, by her Aunt Grace Connors following the death of both of her parents in her early childhood. Kathy attended the St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Madison. She went on to work at Edgerton Hospital, Edgerton, WI, and Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She finished her nursing career upon retiring from Mercy Manor. Kathy was a longtime member of St. William's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Connors.
