Marcia Louise Wright, passed away into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Haven Hospice Care Center in Chiefland after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on October 29, 1952 in Ocala, FL., to A. Wendell Wright and Margaret Glattli Wright. She graduated from Ocala High School. She also graduated from the University of Florida with Honors majoring in mathematics, physics and education.
Marcia is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, N.C. and Ruby Wright and her maternal grandparents, Frank and Alice Glattli, a sister, Charlotte Suzanne Wright and her father, A. Wendell Wright.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Wright of Trenton, FL., brother, Jerry (Debbie) Wright of Trenton, FL., sister, Tina (Mike) Hutto of Silver Springs, FL., nephews: Garrett (Christina) Hutto of Silver Springs, FL., and Byron (Jennifer) Hutto and their daughter Evelyn of Silver Springs, FL., nieces: Devon (Bruce) Studstill and their daughters Ansley and Emmie of Trenton, FL., and Dara (Eugene) Watkins and their daughters Cydney and Ellie of Trenton, FL., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Marcia worked in the information technology field for many years, having been with Alamo Car Rentals for 17 years, helping design many of their innovative technology programs. Later she worked in Arizona for America West Airlines and Utah for American Express. After moving back to Florida she taught math and computer science for 2 years after which she helped care for her dad until his passing.
Marcia loved to work out in the yard, always had a few quilts that she was working on, many of her own designs.
Most of all she loved her five grand-nieces and looked forward to their visits even when she was ill. She will be missed by family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel at Watson Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Moody officiating. Interment to follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 A.M. in the chapel at Watson Funeral Home before the service.
