Cedric Ellsworth Moore, Sr., age 85, of 177 Oliver Street, Hertford, NC died Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Guardian Care Nursing Home. Mr. Moore was born in Perquimans County, NC, the son of the late George W. Moore and Grizzell Jordan Moore Morgan and was the husband of Betty Rhodes Moore of the residence. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, U.A. Plumbers Local Union #68 and a Merchant Marine.
Besides his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Moore of Winfall, NC; one son, Cedric Ellsworth Moore, Jr. of Seattle, WA; one step-daughter, Christine R. Loy of Triumph, IL; two step-sons, Martin Huss of Chicago, IL and Burton Rhodes of LaSalle, IL; and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, November 10, 2008, at 11:00 AM in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ray Tavenner officiating.
