Mrs. Pierce was very proud of her students at Wallace-Rose Hill High where she was the Year Book Advisor and an Honors English Teacher. She had been teaching at Wallace-Rose Hill since 2010 and was 1997 graduate of East Carolina University and earned her Masters of Education from Phoenix University. Mrs. Pierce was a High School Graduate of South View High in Hope Mills in Cumberlin County, NC.
Mrs. Pierce was a woman of great faith that touched countless lives and never missed an opportunity to be a living testimony to everyone she met. Her love for family, love for her church family, and her students was contagious. She addressed every challenge, personal or professional, with great passion, great determination and greater love. A teacher by profession that was loved and respected by countless students, parents and co-workers, was teaching us all about living, loving each other, and loving God. As one of her former students wrote to her, "[She was] a perfect teacher in a real world". Now we are all her students and will continue to learn from her love of God and passion for living
Survivors include her husband, Michael Paul Pierce, her children, Zachary Pierce and Candace Pierce, father Galt Nichols "Nick" Smith, mother Linda B. Smith, sister Stacy DeBarge, niece Lorin DeBarge, and nephews Ethan DeBarge and Keith DeBarge, Jr.
