Wesley E. Lane
August 18, 1926 - November 18, 2013

Wesley Eugene Lane was born August 18, 1926 in Sumner, Oklahoma to Perryman and Ester Lane. Wesley lived in Mooreson, Oklahoma until he was about 6 years old, and then moved to attend schools in Covington, Oklahoma.

At the age of 17 he decided to enlist in the United States Navy and he proudly served his country during World War II. After receiving an honorable discharge, he met and married Marjorie Jean Elliott on June 18, 1947, who was the love of his life for over 50 years. After marrying they moved from Covington to the old Elliott homestead in Hardesty, Oklahoma where they raised their 3 children--Larry, Loretta, and Debbie. He cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Wesley enjoyed the open range of the Oklahoma Panhandle. He loved farming and ranching and had a true "Cowboys' Heart"--wearing his boots jeans and cowboy hat wherever he went. He ran his own dairy farm, raised cattle and longhorns, and was a great neighbor to fellow ranchers who might need a helping hand. He also served on the Texas County Fair board for several years.

Following Marjorie's passing, he married Mary Ellen (Miller) Brewer on September 2, 2000. They lived on the farm in Hardesty until deciding to move to Guymon. Due to his health, he lived out the last years of his life in Corinth, which allowed him to be closer to his family.

Wesley passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perryman and Ester Lane; wife, Marjorie Lane; son, Larry Lane; and his brother, Harvey Lane.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Lane of Guymon, OK; two daughters, Loretta Morris of Corinth, TX and Debbie Reimer of Mesquite, TX; seven grandchildren, Terry (Lori) Lane, Pamela (Jeff) Bruce, Dustin (Keri) Page, Derek (Kimberly) Page, Devyn (Amanda) Page, Lauren Reimer and Carson Reimer; six great grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Peterson of Washington State. He is also survived by Mary Ellen's children: Barbara Giles of Midwest City, OK, Betty Cunningham of Auburn, WA, Leola Merideth of Sioux Falls, SD, Zane Brewer of Guymon, OK, Dallas Mayer of Hooker, OK, Lisa Giles of Luther, OK and Dee Fleecs of Lincoln, NE; along with numerous grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hardesty, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the Hartville Cemetery, SE of Hardesty. Services are under the care of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Lane, Todd Lane, Dustin Page, Derek Page, Devyn Page, and Carson Reimer.
