Geraldine Cox Wooten, 83 years of age, of Bronston, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, November 16th, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
Geraldine was born on March 30th, 1930 in London, Kentucky to the late Owsley "Doc" and Mary McDaniel Cox. Geraldine was former Owner Operator of Jerry's Beauty Shop and a retired Beautician. She attended Lakeside Baptist Church, was a loving mother and grandmother and loved antiques, traveling and stained glass art.
Geraldine was survived by three sons, Barry (and Brenda) Wooten, Byron (and Jenny) Wooten, and Derrick (and Cindy) Wooten; like a son, Jerry Eldridge; one son-in-law, Leland Stevenson; seven grandchildren, Jared (and Kristee) Wooten, Jeff (and Kathy) Wooten, Angie (and Greg) Broyles, Amy (and Shawn) Hail, Erica Wooten, Wyatt Wooten, and Luke (and Jessica) Stevenson; two step grandchildren, Kristi (and Shannon) Fraley and Ashley Bussell; eleven great grandchildren, Levi Wooten, Lacie Wooten, Journey Wooten and Jenasis Wooten, Gracen Broyles and Aden Broyles, Taylor Hail and Brittney Hail, Allison Stevenson, Olivia Stevenson, and Tye Stevenson; five step great grandchildren, Colton Fraley, Carson Fraley and Camden Fraley, Riley Bradley and Jordyn McGuire; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Mary Cox; her husband, Eugene Wooten, whom she married on September 18th, 1950 in Belton, Texas; one daughter, Sharon Wooten Stevenson; a grandson, Scott Stevenson; one son, Terry Ray Grimes; and one brother, Bill Cox.
Visitations were held on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013 after 6:00 p.m. at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Fisher officiating.
Burial followed in the Mill Sprimgs National Cemetery.
