Ronald was born Feb. 2, 1914 in Alta
to Albert and Henrietta (Glawe) Meyer,
He graduated from Washington High
School, Sioux Falls, S.D. in 1932. Ronald
returned to Iowa and engaged in farming.
On Feb. 17, 1940 he was united in marriage
to Edna Lindquist at the First Presbyterian
Church in Alta. The couple
farmed north of Alta on the family farm
their entire married life. Edna passed
away on March 6, 1990.

On June 4, 1995 Ronald married
LaVerna Saathoff at Witter Memorial
Chapel in Storm Lake.

Ronald was a member of the Masonic
Lodge, Elk Township Cemetery Board,
Alta Coop Elevator Board, Fairview
School Board, Buena Vista County Zoning
Commission, Buena Vista County
Election Board and First Presbyterian
Church in Alta, where he was an Elder,
Deacon and Trustee. He enjoyed woodworking,
square dancing, ballroom dancing,
playing cards and being with family
and friends. He was a loving and caring
person, a man of character.

Ronald is survived by his wife
LaVerna of Storm Lake; three sons, Jerry
and Jeanine Meyer, of Alta, Lee and
Becky Meyer of Alta and Tom and Alice
Meyer of Des Moines; one daughter, Joy
and Cal Johnson of Storm Lake; two stepdaughters,
Rita and Roger Peters of Lake
View and Patricia and George Vebsky of
Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren, Brent
and Tracy Meyer, Todd Meyer, Scott
Meyer, Jason and Angi Meyer, Nele
Meyer, Kristen Meyer, Jeff Meyer, Doug
Meyer, Jodie Johnson, Nick Sorbe and
Adam Sorbe; two step-grandchildren,
Rachel and Jeff Hudson and Jill and Russ
Peters; two great-grandchildren, Kim and
Corey Meyer; and four step-great-grandchildren,
Cassidy and Damon Hudson
and Garrett and Sarah Peters.

He was preceded in death by his parents;
his infant son Roger; his first wife
Edna; and four brothers, Wayne, Garland,
Kenneth and Keith.
