DEARBORN, Mo. - Billy Brandon, 75, of Dearborn, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013.
He was born on November 17, 1938 to Carl and Mae (Maxvill) Brandon in Peculiar, Mo.
Bill grew up and attended school in Weston, Mo. He later attended Missouri Western State College. Bill served his country in the US Army as a Paratrooper and later retired from the Missouri Air National Guard after over 20 years of service.
On February 28, 1962, he was united in marriage to Ida Jane Kenney. After their marriage they lived in Gladstone, Mo., and in 1966 they moved to Dearborn, where they made their home.
Bill worked for General Motors in Fairfax, Kan., and for GMARA in Detroit, Mich. He enjoyed farming, raising animals and tobacco, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack Brandon and Jim Brandon; and sister, Joyce Swindler.
He is survived by his wife Ida; children, Jeff Brandon and Suzanne Brandon; grandchildren, Katie Lomax and husband John and Jace Pine; sisters, Shirley Pine and husband Ron, Esther Paden and husband Jim, Carol Snider, Jean Hill and husband Don, Barbara Jo Fry and June Greer and husband Ralph; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 22, at the New Market Christian Church.
Burial: Pleasant Ridge Cemetery
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Donations to Three Rivers Hospice.
