Priscilla Horrocks was born in England in 1847. She came to America in 1857 when she was ten years old. The family first lived in Pennsylvania, but by 1867 they had moved to Illinois. In 1867, Priscilla married Samuel Cade. They had two children, Frank Lewis Cade and Sarah Elizabeth Cade. Sometime in the early 1870s, Priscilla, Samuel, and kids moved to the Blue Hill area of Nebraska. In 1876, Samuel died, leaving Priscilla a widow. The next year Joseph Wesley Moore took out a marriage license application to marry Priscilla, but he interchanged his name with a Jacob Moore. The Certificate of Marriage was never completed. On the license he said he was never married, but he was in fact at this time still married to his first wife, Nancy. This was a common law marriage, if anything, as in later documents "Wess" claims two legal marriages, neither one of which is to Priscilla. There is period of time where Priscilla is without Wess as he was in California marrying and divorcing another. The late 1890s finds Priscilla and Wess in California - in Bragdon near Trinity Center in Trinity County. Priscilla's father had died and left her his estate. They lived there until 1900 when Wess committed first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison. He was sent to San Quentin Prison, and Priscilla moved to that area to be near him. She died in San Francisco in 1903 and was buried in the Mount Tamalpias Cemetery.

Notice that whomever designed the headstone did NOT put on Moore as Priscilla's last name.
