GALATIA
Kathleen Bryant Gill 81 of Galatia, passed away 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, in Harrisburg.
She was born on Nov. 25, 1931, at Norris City to the Rev. Luke and Clara (Weaver) Bryant. She taught school at Crossville Community School for two years and at Harrisburg schools (East Side and Horace Mann) for 29 years. Kathleen married Phillip Gill on Nov. 21, 1970, and he preceded her in March of 2002. Kathleen was saved on July 17, 1947, and baptized in the Norris City Baptist Church. She has been a member of the Galatia First Baptist Church since 1971.
She has two stepchildren Alan Gill who preceded in November of 2010 and Luann Gill (Denny Irvin) of Broughton. There are three grandchildren, Jim Gill, Bobbie Choisser and Abby Gill; also three stepgrandchildren, Bryan Irvin, Jennifer Irvin and Matthew Gill. There are five great-grandchildren, Kendall, Kendra and Caitlynn Brown and Cormac and Conner Gill; four great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Hal and Junior Bryant; four sisters, Lillian Hughes, Reba Renshaw, Beulah Kernicle and Ernestine Hale.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the Galatia First Baptist Church with visitation from 11 a.m. until funeral hour Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Derek Downs will officiate with burial in the Tate's Chapel Cemetery.
