She was baptized in infancy and became a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of Salem Lutheran Church in 1893. In 1883 she moved with her brother, Samuel Hileman, to Jonesboro. She knew how to shear sheep, card wool, spin, and weave. She left two brothers.
