Helen Louise Baldwin, 89 a lifetime resident of Muskogee, passed away Sunday morning. Helen was born July 15, 1924 to Lester Matthews and Geneva (Crawford) Matthews. After attending the public schools of Muskogee and graduating from Central High School, Helen attended Draughn's Business College, where she studied business. She worked for Midland Valley Railroad and Coburn Optical Manufacturing as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk, from which she retired on August 26, 1986. On July 22, 1954, Helen married the love of her life, Glen C. Baldwin, in Muskogee. They celebrated 42 years of marriage. Helen was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she attended the Senior Adult Co-ed Bible Study class, enjoyed singing with the Golden Voices and hanging out with the Keenagers. She was also a member of the Yarn Yarn sisterhood (hats for infants). Helen was loved by many and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen Baldwin, son, Matthew Baldwin, and daughter, Glenda Baldwin and her brother and his wife, Gene and Corkey Matthews.
