Mrs. Janette Thompson, 86, colored, died at the home of C. T. Walcott on Highland avenue Tuesday. The funeral was held Thursday, Rev. Charles W. Merriam officiating. The burial was in Green River cemetery. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Seymour, Ct. Her father was a slave before the Civil war. For 30 years she was a servant in the family of Rev. and Mrs. O. M. Loomis of Congress street and for the past nine years has been with Mrs. Walcott.
