Ludowici – Sallie M. Walling, 79, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Walthourville and had lived in Ludowici most of her life after following her husband in his military career. She was a member of the Church of Christ and preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Annie Gordon Maulden, and her siblings, Wilda, Orman, Laverne, and Rheba. Survivors are her husband of 55 years, Ruben R. Walling, Sr. of Ludowici; three daughters, Julie Johnson of Surprise, AZ, Valerie Brisbin of Pt. Wentworth, and Meleony Walling of Long County; two sons, R. Richard Walling, Jr. of Long County and Michael Walling of Winder; one sister, Myria Maulden of Ludowici; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 11:00 A.M. at A New Beginning Church with Dr. Charles Houston officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Sheldon Macmillan, Dean Macmillan, Richard L. Fordham, Sr., Ricky L. Fordham, III, Chase Mason, Nicholas Fordham, and John Walling.
