Mrs. Peggy Nanney McKinney, age 78, a longtime resident of McKinney Rd. in South Fulton, died 3:00 am Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Martin Healthcare in Martin, TN.

She was a public accountant, was Head Accountant for the former Stanley Jones Mechanical Corporation, she owned and operated three separate H & R Block businesses in Martin, Fulton and Union City and retired from H & R Block in 2005 after 35 years of service. She was a lifelong member of the New Hope Methodist Church in Chestnut Glade and later attended the South Fulton Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and had lived in the Chestnut Glade community and on McKinney Rd. in South Fulton,TN.

She is survived by two daughters Cathy Hill of Troy, TN and Melissa Hankins of Martin, TN; six grandchildren: Becky Burnett of Union City,TN, Nathan Hill of Nashville,TN, Eric Hill of Franklin,TN, Brent Netherland of Fairview, TN, Josh Hankins of Hendersonville, TN and Jake Hankins of Jacksonville, FL and five great grandchildren. Also three sisters Patsy Beale, Pansy Baker and Paula Bell, all of Martin, TN, and a sister in law Priscilla Nanney of Chestnut Glade,TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband B. Gene McKinney, her parents Gerald Mike Nanney, Sr. and Mary Florence (Taylor) Nanney, a son Michael Gene McKinney and a brother Gerald Mike Nanney, Jr.

Active Pallbearers will be Nathan Hill, Eric Hill, Brent Netherland, Josh Hankins, Jake Hankins and Wynn Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be great grandchildren: Ethan Hankins, Braxton Burnett, Bryce Burnett, Aubrie Hill and Everett Hill.

Funeral service will be Saturday, November 23 at 1 pm at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery near Martin, TN. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 am Saturday until the funeral hour.

Memorials may be made to the New Hope Cemetery Fund, c/o Jane Rawls, 118 Ivie Lane, Martin, TN 38237.
