Michael David Léger, a native of Port Néches, Texas and a resident of Morgan City and Stephensville for over 60 years, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home.

Michael retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam, where he was wounded in combat and awarded the Purple Heart. Michael was a devout Catholic who strived daily to serve the Lord. He was totally devoted to his wife and said that she gave him a glance of what to expect in Heaven. The pride and joy of his life was his son. He was overjoyed when he was blessed to become a grandfather to his two grandsons. Michael loved the outdoors, especially: fishing, hunting, or just enjoying nature. He loved to travel to visit family and friends.
