Anna Rachel (Miller) Tefft Heald

Anna was born in Paonia on October 3, 1923. She spent her childhood in the Paonia/Crawford area and attended high school in Hotchkiss.

She met her first husband, Marion Tefft, while working at a café in Paonia. They were married on March 26, 1942, and their daughter, Marie, was born a year later. They began working with race horses in 1946, and traveled throughout the western states until Marion's untimely death in 1954.

Anna moved back to Delta and worked at Garrett Mercantile. In 1955, she married George Heald and had two sons, Tim and Paul.

She worked for Colorado Department of Social Services from 1970, until retiring in 1992. In 1997, she sold the house in Delta, and moved to Grand Junction where she purchased a new home a mile away from her daughter and son-in-law.

Ann enjoyed visiting with family, reading, crocheting, and working in the yard.

She passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughter, Marie, and son, Paul, on November 1, 2013.

A celebration of Ann's life will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Clifton Christian Church.

Following the service, a Thanksgiving themed potluck will be held at the church. Turkey and Ham will be provided along with tea and lemonade. Please bring salads, side dishes, bread or desserts.
