HUTSONVILLE, Ill. -- Vemba I. Parker, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She had worked with the dietary staff at the Heritage Shelter Care Home in Hutsonville. She was a member of the United Church of God in Terre Haute, Ind.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Montgomery of Troy, Mich., and Janet Peo of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Frank G. of Portage, Ind., and Jim of West York, Ill.; three sisters, Grace Loncavish of Huntington, W.Va., Ruth Hedger of Atlanta and Virginia Carlin of The Woodlands, Texas; a brother, Jack Needs of New Haven, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, Ruth and Sarah Montgomery, David, Ron and Clint Parker, Rachel West, Steven Peo, Joyce Mullineax and Debra Rothenberger; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Clint, died in 1966 and an infant daughter, Catherine Louise, died in 1934.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pulliam Funeral Home Hutsonville Chapel, with burial in the Hutsonville Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of God in her memory.
