Billy L. Ferrell was born November 25, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on November 13, 2013 at Village Hospice in Lee's Summit, Missouri at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 19 days. He was the son of Willard Clyde Ferrell and Helen Lorene Steiver.
Mr. Ferrell grew up in the Independence area.
On August 11, 1978 he was united in marriage with Linda J. Patrick in Liberty, Missouri and to this union one daughter, Amanda Lee, was born.
The Ferrell family made their home in Independence until 1989 when they moved to Belton, Missouri. In 1996 they moved to Creighton Missouri, living there for five years before moving to Pleasant Hill, Missouri in 2001.
Mr. Ferrell was a truck driver before declining health forced his retirement. Mr. Ferrell was a member of the Miners Union, Local 541 and had been a Union Steward. He was also a member of the Mine Rescue Team.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Clyde Ferrell; his mother, Helen Lorene Steiver and one sister, Redina Ferrell.
Mr. Ferrell is survived by his wife, Linda J. (Patrick) Ferrell of the home; one daughter Amanda Lee Hall and husband Ron of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; three brothers, Franklin D. Ferrell and wife Sherry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Larry Ferrell of Kansas and Ronald Ferrell of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; two grandsons, Connor Wayne Coffel and Ryder Lee Hall, other relatives and many, many friends.
Cremation has been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date.
