HELEN E. SPESSARD, 68, of 515 Jefferson Street died Thursday at Washington County Hospital. Born in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of William and Ida Andrews Bowers, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and Friendship Circle Sunday school class.

She is survived by her husband, Leon L. Spessard; a son, Harold E. Spessard , Hagerstown; brothers, William H. Bowers and Roy E. Bowers, both of Hagerstown; sisters, Mr. Myrtle Baker and Mrs. Genevieve Hamburg, both of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Services were held at the Christ Lutheran Church; burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
