Death of G. F. Aufrecht

Gottlob Frederic Aufrecht was born Nov. 23, 1858 in Wuertenberg, Germany, and passed away at his home Northwest of Loup City, May 30, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 7 days.
He came with his brother, William and family and sister Matilda, to America in 1881 and located near Seward, Nebraska.
He was united in marriage to Katherine Louise Mauser at Seward, January 15, 1884. To this union five children were born. In 1887 he moved with his family to Amherst, Colorado, where he resided about 16 years. From Amherst, he moved to Edwall Washington, where he remained until 1912. At that time he came to Loup City and located on the farm northwest of town. Here he made his home until the time of his death.
When a young man, still living in Germany, the first John Wesley meeting in Wuertenberg, was held at his father's home, and it was here that he united with the Methodist church, and continued in the faith throughout his life.
He leavers to mourn his passing, his daughters, Matilda and Helen, a son Albert and two grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
His wife preceded him in death in 1909 [sic]. His eldest daughter passed away while the family was living in Colorado, and Clara in 1928 [sic] in Loup City.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church in Loup City with Rev. E. R. Peterson in charge. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.
