Herbert Matte, 78, of 938 S. 26th St. Manitowoc, died Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Joseph Mattern will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Matte was born Feb. 28, 1899, at Weston, Wis., son of the late Joseph and Emma Pietcher Matte. He married Frances Drill on Feb. 9, 1920, at St. Mary Church, Manitowoc. They made their home in Manitowoc after their marriage. Mr. Matte had been employed at Mirro Aluminum Co. for 43 years retiring in 1964.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Arnold, Orville and Hilary, of Manitowoc, two daughters, Mrs. Bruno (Janice) Ambrose, of Marlboro, Mass., and Mrs. Arthur (Margo) Perrodin, of Newton, two brothers, Frederick, of Milwaukee and Walter of Manitowoc, a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Eleanor) Alberts, of Manitowoc, 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Three brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 o'clock this Friday evening, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 o'clock.
