Mrs. Blanche Belk Blackmon, 88, 0f 1306 Northwood in Columbia, died at the Columbia Hospital Monday evening after one day's illness.
She was born in Monroe, N. C. on August 27, 1893, a daughter of the late Margaret and William Johnson Belk.
Funeral services for Mrs. Blackmon was to be held today at 4 P.M. in Dunbar Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. C. W. Poston and the Rev. Joseph E. Walker. Interment was to be in Elmwood cemetery.
Mrs. Blackmon was a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband, B. T. Blackmon, died in September 1957.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. C. E. Ketchyen of Camden, Mrs. O. S. Kneece, Mrs. Jack F. McGuinn, Miss Ethel Blackmon, Miss Ellen Blackmon, and Mrs. W. F. Blanks, all of Columbia; two sons, Dr. L. W. Blackmon of Columbia and Beven Blackmon of Orangeburg; three sisters; Mrs. F. M. Whiddon, Miss Eula Belk, and Mrs. N. D. Beckman, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were to be Bobby Kneece, Billy Kneece, Buddy Blanks, Benny Blanks, Tommy Kell, and Dickey Kell.
Honorary pallbearers were to be Berley Eargle, G. A. Christmas, W. C. Zeagler, Luke Cannon, Jason Brown, F. K. Hinnant, Dr. Hugh DuBose, L. S. Sawyer Jr, Dr. Richard Kahaly, Dr. John Rhaney, Jack Kneece, Ernest Boland, Thomas Wilson, and Thomas L. Gregory.
